Perhaps it&#8217;s because escape is<br \/>\neasier than change.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>If the statistics from motivation experts and success<br \/>\npsychologists are correct (95% of the people in the world do NOT have written goals and fail, while 5% have<br \/>\nwritten goals and succeed), then Mr Rohn&#8217;s observation<br \/>\nreally IS quite fascinating isn&#8217;t it?<\/p>\n<p>If clear, scientifically-written goals are the key to<br \/>\nsuccess, then why wouldn&#8217;t more people make the time<br \/>\nand effort to set goals? Beats me. Mystery of life.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately for most people, the odds for success<br \/>\nare actually even lower, because out of the few people who<br \/>\ndo set goals, most don&#8217;t take goal setting seriously and<br \/>\nthey don&#8217;t do it scientifically.<\/p>\n<p>At the beginning of every year, you see countless articles<br \/>\nabout getting fit, losing fat, and nearly everyone talks<br \/>\nabout &#8220;new years resolutions.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>And that&#8217;s the problem &#8211; you may think you are setting<br \/>\nreal goals, but if you&#8217;re like most people, you&#8217;re probably<br \/>\nonly making flimsy, wishy-washy, powerless &#8220;resolutions.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Zig Ziglar once said that, &#8220;A goal casually set and lightly<br \/>\ntaken will be freely abandonded at the first obstacle.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>You might want to go back and read that quote again,<br \/>\nmaybe even write it down or print it out, because that<br \/>\none hits the bullseye!<\/p>\n<p>This truly explains why new years resolutions almost never<br \/>\nwork, and why so few people can keep off the pounds after<br \/>\nthey get rid of them.<\/p>\n<p>Goal setting should not be casual or lightly taken. Goal<br \/>\nsetting is an important and serious matter. How can you set a<br \/>\ngoal that is realistic and also has no limits?<\/p>\n<p>Let me explain<\/p>\n<p>As a fat loss coach, I sometimes have a dilemma&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>One one hand, I want my clients and proteges to set goals<br \/>\nwhich are achievable and realistic. But on the other hand,<br \/>\nI hate to set limits on what someone can or cannot achieve.<\/p>\n<p>I like to say that If youre going to question anything,<br \/>\nquestion your limits.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s what I suggest to do when you set your goals<br \/>\nfor 2014:<\/p>\n<p>Set goals that are specific, measureable, ambitious, and<br \/>\nhave a realistic time frame (deadline). But don&#8217;t stop there&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>This year, turn your goals into NO LIMIT goals!<\/p>\n<p>As the subconscious mind tends to take you literally and<br \/>\nat your own estimation, why put a definite cap on your goal<br \/>\nby stopping with a goal statement like, &#8220;I am losing 6% body<br \/>\nfat by April 15th?&#8221;<br \/>\nWhy not say, &#8220;I am losing 6% body fat OR MORE by April 15th,&#8221; or,<br \/>\n&#8220;I am gaining AT LEAST 12 pound of lean muscle in the next<br \/>\nthree months.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>When you say, &#8220;I will achieve X OR BETTER,&#8221; you can have a<br \/>\nrealistic goal, but one without limits.<\/p>\n<p>Make the time to set your goals, today!
